“Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

- Luke 6:38

A message from our Director…

Hello Coalition of Churches in Prison Ministry (CoCiPM),

I hope this message finds you all well in the fifth month of 2025. Yes, it is five months into this year, and time is passing swiftly and is not waiting on anyone. This means we, as believers, must continue to press towards the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

I thank all the pastors who were able to join us Friday, April 26, 2025, for our bi-annually pastors’ meeting. One of the agenda topics discussed was the formation of a pastors’ unified brotherhood to lead the coalition into the future of this ministry. We are looking for a pastor to lead this union of pastors.

A special meeting will be scheduled in June 2025 to complete the 2025 Theme of Redeem The Time for September through December 2025 visits.

The highlighted theme of May is

“What Gift Will You Give to Mother?”

Some of you recall the song from the group The Intruders, “I Always Love My Mama, She Is My Favorite Girl”. Most mothers’ love is caring, special, unconditional, and selfless; and their love could be an unbreakable bond. I would say that only God’s love is stronger and greater than a mother’s love.

The Bible offers many scriptures that describes the love of a mother such as, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come

(Proverbs 31.25).

Proverbs 31: 28-30 goes on to say, Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.

Isaiah 66:13, God comforts is compared to a mother’s comfort, “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.”

And let’s not forget the words of the Apostle John 16:21, “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born, she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.” The love that a mother is willing to endure hardship because of the love she has. Only Jesus and God the Father have greater love than that.

Some 291 Bible verses in the Old and New Testaments reference mothers in the Bible.

On this Mother’s Day, let us celebrate our mothers by lighting a candle for those who have departed this realm and showing those who yet are alive here with cards, encouraging words, and, of course, precious gifts.

So, I say Happy Mother’s Day to all the coalition mothers!

Peace and Love,

Lee Brodie
